Most Popular Questions for the Holiday Season

Schedule your December delivery wisely, considering the heightened shipping activity closer to the holidays. To ensure timeliness, plan delivery dates 2-3 days ahead of your actual need, avoiding Friday and Saturday deliveries. For Christmas orders, secure your delivery slot no later than the 20th or 21st to account for potential delays and guarantee a smooth arrival for your festivities.

In Peak Season, due to high demand and increased activity in our warehouse, orders shipping during the holiday season (November and December) may only be canceled with a request at least 7 days before the ship date. Please call customer service or Contact Us to make request and get confirmation.

During non-peak season, you may cancel an online order (except D’Artagnan online gift certificates), provided you notify D’Artagnan by 5pm (ET), THREE business days before the scheduled delivery date. (Example: For an order with a Tuesday delivery date, D’Artagnan would need to be notified by the previous Thursday.)

In the event your cancellation request is made within THREE business days before the scheduled delivery date (Example: Your cancellation request is sent on the same day the order was placed), D’Artagnan will do all we can do to honor your request but if the order has already been packed or shipped, we will be unable to cancel the order.

Our eco-friendly packaging offers protection to your perishables when there is a FEDEX delay. We ask that you thoroughly inspect your order upon arrival.

How do I know the items are safe?

All items should arrive with seals intact and be cold to the touch. Frozen ice packs will be a good indication that the product was kept at the proper safe temperature while in transit.

What if frozen items arrive thawed?

While D’Artagnan exercises the highest standards of refrigeration, it is possible under some conditions for frozen products to partially thaw in transit as noted on the website. According to the USDA, it is safe to refreeze foods that have thawed under refrigeration or proper temperature, as in our insulated boxes. We recommend either putting the items in the refrigerator and using within 5 days or freezing within 48 hours of receiving your order. Due to the seasonal nature of Fresh Turkeys, Capons, Geese, and Bone-in Berkshire Hams, discounts cannot be applied to these items. Additionally, they cannot be applied to meet order thresholds for discounts nor can they be applied with other active promotions on the website.

Preorders, Ordering and Gifting

We appreciate your interest in our December holiday offerings, including Fresh Turkeys, Bone-in Breasts, Capons, and Geese. Starting on December 1st, you can place preorders for these items. The available delivery dates for these holiday items are December 19th, 20th, or 21st. When selecting your delivery date, please note that all items in your order will be delivered on the chosen date, and unfortunately, separate delivery dates for individual items are not possible. We recommend placing your preorder early to secure your preferred size and delivery date.

Yes. After applying any valid product and/or order discounts, orders must contain at least $50 of products. Shipping/delivery charges and gift certificates amounts do not apply to reaching the required minimum product amount.

We recommend you create an account if you are going to make frequent purchases and/or ship to a variety of different addresses. Creating an account allows you to save your basic contact information, create/manage your address book and have visibility to your entire order history in the My Account section of the website.

Checking out as a guest means you’ll need to reenter your basic information/addresses if/when you leave the checkout process, leave the site or return for a subsequent purchase. Additionally, you will be unable to view your entire order history in one place (you would need to look up each order individually).

Regardless of your checkout method, you’ll always need to reenter your payment details, as credit card information is never stored in our database.

Credit card payments are processed on the day that your order is placed.

Revisions and Cancellations

Once submitted, orders cannot be revised. If changes are necessary, consider cancellation before 7 days from the delivery date and place a new order. If your request to cancel is within the 7 days we will do our best to accommodate.Contact Us

No. Because our products are consumed and perishable, it is our policy that products should never be returned to D’Artagnan – except where specifically requested by D’Artagnan. D’Artagnan does not accept unauthorized returns. In the event you ship an unauthorized return back to D’Artagnan, D’Artagnan is not responsible for refunding any of the shipping costs associated with unauthorized return.

Yes

  • Refunds will be given in the same amount and issued to the same form as payment that was made on the original order.
  • Refunds cannot be given to purchases of D’Artagnan online gift certificates.
  • Refunds ONLY apply to purchases made at dartagnan.com, and NOT those where D’Artagnan products are purchased through any of our retailer partners.
  • Items with a value of under $50 will only be refunded, not replaced.

In the case of orders placed at the D’Artagnan website, D’Artagnan does not issue refunds or replacements if:

  • The order is unable to be delivered and/or arrives late due to: incorrect, invalid, or incomplete addresses entered by the consumer.
  • Delivery problems are specifically caused by the shipping company.
  • Delivery is delayed or affected by weather and/or acts of god.
  • Products are improperly handled/stored after being successfully delivered.
  • A delivery/shipment is refused by the recipient and/or returned to D’Artagnan without authorization.
